| For extra security and accountability, each user on the SoftBooking system has their own logon password; this is automatically created when a new staff member is added to the system. It is strongly advised that users log in the system when they are using it and log out when they are not. This is also advisable because different access levels can be defined by managers for different levels of staff, so for example, a manager is likely to have access to all areas of the system, whereas a therapist is likely only to be able to access the booking, product and payment (walkin) screen.

| If staff are not encouraged/required to logout, they could potentially use a manager's login giving them access to both view and amend valuable and private data such as other staff pay rates and salon financial data.

| If the system is logged out or has just been started, you will be required to login. To log in click on your name in the main part of the login screen then type your password in the box titled Please Enter Your Password, finally press the button titled Login.

| If you have never logged onto SoftBooking before your password will be set to 'password', as soon as you enter this password you will be prompted to change your password. To change your password you will be required to type your new password into the system twice; once in the box titled Enter New Password and a second time in the box title Re-enter Password. Your new password will now be set.

| If you want to change your password you must access your staff card and press the Reset Password button. The password will be reset to 'Password' and the above process will need to be completed.
