Holidays and sickness

The holiday and sickness tab is where all days and even mornings or afternoons off should be recorded, as this will be shown on the main booking screen. This tab is further split into three sub-tabs:

The time alterations tab should be used to make any time amendments that you want to appear on the booking screen, so if for example a staff member is going to come in an hour late and work an extra hour at the end, this is where you would record it. To make a time alteration you need first to select the day you wish to amend from the calendar on the left hand side of the tab, the date should appear at the top of the time alterations tab and the start and finish time should change to the appropriate time, all you do then is amend the time.  
 
If you want to set a staff member off for a full day, but do not want to log this as a holiday, therefore counting towards their holiday entitlement, you can do this on the time alterations screen by pressing the button Off the staff member will now be set off on the selected day.

Holiday Options - Start Date  
 
The holiday tab is where all the staff holidays should be recorded, they will then be shown on the main booking screen. Before making any holidays it is advisable to set the salons holiday year, this enables the system to workout staff holiday entitlements. To set the holiday year, press the Advanced >> button, this will open a screen with two boxes, one titled month and the second titled day, to set you holiday year enter the month your holiday year starts and the day, then press the OK button.  
 
The holiday screen is then split into annual tabs, so if for example one holiday is booked in the holiday year 2006/07 this will display in the appropriate tab and if a second holiday is booked in 2008 this will appear in the holiday tab 2007/08, holiday entitlements can then be calculated for each holiday year.  
 
Before you make any holidays it is also a good idea to put in the holiday, days entitlement in the holiday days per year field, this will then display the days the staff member has remaining in the current year. Note if a holiday is made for a period which crosses over a normal day off the system does not count that day as holiday.  
 
To add a holiday period simply press the Add button, this will open up a screen in which you select the first day of the holiday by pressing the arrow and clicking on the appropriate date from the calendar, do the same for the last day of the staff members holiday, then press OK, the screen will close and the holiday period will appear on the main holiday list in the appropriate tab. You can delete this holiday by selecting the holiday you want to delete from the list, by single clicking the left mouse button and pressing the Delete button.

The sickness tab is where all the staff sickness should be recorded, they will then be shown on the main booking screen. To add a sickness period simply press the Add button, this will open up a screen in which you select the first day of the sickness by pressing the arrow and clicking on the appropriate date from the calendar, do the same for the last day of the staff members sickness, then press OK, the screen will close and the sickness period will appear on the main sickness list. You can delete this sickness by selecting the sickness you want to delete from the list, by single clicking the left mouse button and pressing the Delete button.
