| The main treatment screen is like most of the screens on the SoftBooking system: organised with a list of all the products on the main part of the screen to the right and with a sidebar to the left, which is where the main functions on the screen can be completed. In addition to this main product screen, each product also has a file where all the products details are stored.
| The main treatment screen is simply a list of all the treatments the salon offers. This list is further split into two lists; active and inactive treatments, the system is defaulted to show active treatments but the inactive list can be accessed by clicking the tab labelled show inactive treatments which is located at the very top of the main grid. To open a treatment file double click on the treatment you wish to see. This will open up the selected treatment file. If you click your right mouse button over the main treatment grid a dropdown list will appear, this gives you the following options: Set treatment groups - you can use this option to multi-select and assign the same treatment group to the selected treatments. To use this function you first need to multi-select the files you want to apply the new treatment groups to. Then press the set treatment group(s) option. This will bring up another dropdown list with all the existing treatment groups, just click one of these treatment groups and the selected treatments will be re-assigned; print preview this shows the data in a printable format; autofit this realigns the data columns; Show group header - this allows you to add a grouping function to the main grid. This option allows you to group columns by any of the column headings, to group by a column heading simply drag the column heading into the blue bar above it; expand groups - this shows all products ungrouped; collapse groups - this shows the products grouped; open in Excel; open in XML; select all; refresh - updates data.
| Every treatment within the salon should have an individual treatment card created for it. The SoftBooking system allows two broad types of treatments to be setup: the first is a standard treatment which is sold by the salon; the second is a minute based treatments; minute based treatments are treatments which are sold in minutes, the most common example is tanning/sun-bed minutes.
| The treatment card has five buttons vertically organised on the right hand of the card they are titled and function as follows:
| Create new the create new button can be used to add a new treatment directly from an existing treatment card; this is particularly useful when adding several new treatments one after another. If the create new button is pressed the current treatment card will be saved and a black treatment card will replace it.
| Print receipt the print receipt button is only highlighted when a transaction is selected on the treatment card in the history section of the card. When the button is pressed a screen will appear showing the appropriate receipt, to print the receipt press the print button, to cancel press the cancel button.
| Save the save button allows any amendments to the treatment card to be saved; this can be pressed anytime an amendment has been made to the treatment card.
| Cancel the cancel button will close the treatment card cancelling any amendments that may have been made whilst the card has been open. If changes have been made the user will be given a warning asking if they are sure they wish to close the card without saving the amendments.

| What follows is a description of all the tabs currently available on the treatment card.
| The treatment details part of the treatment file is where the basic and vital information about the treatment is stored. The first field (after defining what the treatment is: minute based) is the treatment description. The second field is the treatment barcode, a short code is often used here such as EBS. The next field is the treatment group, this field is a mandatory field and is usually something like hair removal for example. If your treatment group has already been created you can find it by clicking on the arrow and selecting it from the dropdown list, if you want to create a new treatment group press the
button, this will bring you through to the treatment group screen, to add a treatment group press the Add button, this will open another screen, in this screen enter the treatment group name, then press OK to save and close, then press OK to save and close the treatment group screen, this will return you to the treatment file, where your new treatment group will appear on the dropdown list. The length of treatment field should be completed with the duration you wish to show on the booking screen, this can be customised for different staff members on the multi/price length tab described below. Below the length is a field titled number of treatments in course and the purpose of this box is to set up a treatment which is a course of treatments, so if for example you offer five of the same treatment for a discounted price, enter five in here and make sure the treatment price is the price for the whole course. The next field is special colour, which means when the treatment is booked, it will appear on the booking screen in the selected colour, this is particularly useful if you have treatments that cannot be completed simultaneously or you want to really standout on the booking screen. The next field is the sale price of the treatment, you can just type this in or click on the arrow and use the calculator, when you have finished with the calculator click anywhere off it to close it. You then need to tick or un-tick the box below to indicate if this price includes VAT or not. Then there is the discount field, where you can apply a discount to the selected treatment. The final field in the top half of the treatment file is room and this of course is used if this treatment can only be completed in a selected room(s), see the Rooms section in this manual to learn how to attach rooms to treatments.
| The second part of the treatment card is split into tabs which can be navigated through by clicking on the appropriate heading. Whenever a treatment card is opened it will automatically open into the tab titled Sales History.
